Now that warmer weather has officially arrived Hopewell Music is springing into the upcoming months with concerts, community events, and music camps! May is kicked off with the 2nd annual Duke and Donuts on Saturday, May 14, 4 p.m. at Jazz Central. The following weekend brings us the Hopewell Community Orchestra’s spring concert, Concertos and Classics on Saturday, May 21, 4 p.m. in the sanctuary at North United Methodist Church. Both concerts are free and are open to the public with donations graciously accepted and appreciated.
In June, things start bustling as our summer camps begin. This summer we will have four different camps: Monster Music Madness, Monster Songs, Monster Keys and Monster Jam. The first three camps, Monster Music Madness, Monster Songs and Monster Keys, are geared toward beginners, ages 7-12 years old. Monster Music Madness is an introduction to instruments for those who know they want to play, but aren’t sure what. Monster Keys zeros in on piano and Monster Song concentrates on the voice and learning how to sing in a choir. Have a child who has been taking lessons for 1+ years? They can sign up for our chamber music camp, Monster Jam! A fun way to make music with new and old friends. Dates, costs and scholarship info for camps is available on our website, hopewellmusic.com.
Another exciting June event is Hopewell Music’s Children’s Day Festival with the Minnesota Sinfonia! The Children’s Day Festival is on Wednesday, June 15 and is a daylong arts and resource festival at Camden’s Webber Park, focusing on bringing Northside families and the metro communities together to celebrate the exciting opportunities on the Northside. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
