News brief from Camden High School

The Camden High School Mural Project is proceeding with 19 youth, 9th graders to graduating 12th graders, having participated with lead artist Northsider Charles Caldwell and art instructor Emily Krikava. These upcoming student artists have been engaged in building painting and drawing skills for the first three weeks.

Local archivists Buzzy Bohn and Susan Breedlove have shared research and resources regarding the history of Camden and the high school. Student artists have learned of designs and patterns, while focusing on symbols of cultures of students and the residents of the Camden Community. They are painting Polytech materials for the 30’ x 60’ mural which will be attached to the exterior north side of the edifice. The next step is to create the final design embracing components of life in this community.
