SPCO Chamber Music presents Miniatures and Mendelssohn

 

The Capri Theater proudly welcomes Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra (SPCO) musicians back for the final chamber music concert of the 2015-16 Capri season at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7. Reservations for free tickets to Miniatures and Mendelssohn are available on a first-come, first-served basis at thecapritheater.org. Take an hour and a half out of your busy schedule to revel in the heart-on-your-sleeve romanticism, sheer melodic beauty and high energy of this concert featuring Dvořák’s Terzetto for Two Violins and Viola and Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quintet in B-flat. Musicians include Nina Tso-Ning Fan and Daria Adams on violin and Hyobi Sim on viola on the Dvořák piece; and Eunice Kim on violin, Daria Adams on violin, Shuangshuang Liu on viola, Hyboi Sim on viola and Sarah Lewis on cello, on the Mendelssohn piece.

Audiences have grown to love the beautiful sound and intimacy of the SPCO concerts at the Capri, as well as the opportunity to experience magnificent classical music for free. “Our partnership with SPCO brings real and substantial benefits to our community,” said Capri Director James Scott.

In addition to chamber concerts SPCO also presents special musical offerings for children  and families at the Capri. Next up: Explorchestra!, geared for ages 6-12 (but all ages will enjoy), at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28.
