Victory Park splash pad construction on hold

The Minneapolis Park and Rec Board (MPRB) is implementing the design and construction of a new splash pad at Victory Park to replace its former wading pool. The project is based on the North Service Area Master Plan, adopted in 2019, which includes guiding principles for aquatics in this area and a master plan for Victory Park.

Construction of the splash pad area improvements at Victory Park is on hold this summer because construction bids exceeded the project budget. The splash pad design is being revised to bring the project within funding limits while capturing the original design goals of the project.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board staff will bid the revised splash pad project this fall with construction anticipated in 2023.
