Graduation rates increasing

 

For the second year in a row, Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) saw a 5 percent increase in its graduation rates. More than 64 percent of Minneapolis students graduated within four years, the highest four year graduation rate in a decade.

North High School accomplished close to a 30 percent increase in graduation rates. African-American students at Henry High School rose 15 percent in their graduation rates.

In addition, graduation rates increased across all student groups. Among Hispanic students, there was a 12 percent rise. African-American students’ graduation rate grew by 5 percent, a jump that resulted in a graduation rate of more than 50 percent. Rates rose notably for Asian and White students as well.
