  • Winter Solstice Luminary Walk and Craft Fare

Thank you to everyone that joined us in December at the Winter Solstice event at Creekview. The weather was perfect for sledding, a stroll along the trails at Shingle Creek Park admiring the beautiful art work from students at Jenny Lind Elementary School, dancing to the tunes from DJ Lance, s’mores by the fire pits and hot apple cider while shopping the craft fare wares from Willy’s Branches Wood Carving, The Dream Shop, Jessica Pendzimas Art and The Koch Cabin.

  • Starte Thomas Runaway Prevention Program  5014 Upton Ave N

612-441-8177.   facebook.com/runnawaypreventionmn

SCNA would like to welcome Starte Thomas Runaway Prevention to the neighborhood. Starte Thomas Runaway Prevention Program, LLC is committed to saving the youth and providing them with a safe place in Minneapolis, as well as hygiene items, clothing, food, help with transportation to and from appointments, and support finding long term housing, job training and placement opportunities. The organization targets runaway and homeless children that are between 18 to 24 years of age. There are a lack of shelters in Minneapolis that cater to runaway youth, so the opportunity to make a major impact in the area is there, especially by offering runaways a quality, caring atmosphere at the most difficult and chaotic time of their life.  All size donations are welcome! Your donation will be tax deductible.

  • Creekview Recreation Center

Winter youth sports registration is open! Sign up for basketball, hockey, gymnastics and wrestling programs and leagues across Minneapolis! Adult fitness is now at Creekview. Also, there is still room for your little one to join the fun with Creekview Preschool program.

SCNA is a community based organization formed by neighbors to make decisions for our neighborhood.  If you would like to see change within the neighborhood, join the conversation at one of our meetings or reach out through our social media or email.

If you have an idea for an event or would like to participate, reach out to us with your ideas.

Mission Statement:  To be a voice of the community, to advocate and promote the Shingle Creek neighborhood, to improve neighborhood livability and economic opportunities, to involve and empower residents, and to promote the safety and health of our community and its residents.
