As North Minneapolis schools settle into new routines, and afterschool programs adjust how they support their communities, it’s even more important to provide meaningful learning experiences that help build young scholars’ confidence and resilience.

This fall PCYC’s Bright Futures K-5 Enrichment instruction has remained online, bringing condensed and meaningful programming to scholars while they’re safe at home. Programming is focused on activities that spark creativity, critical thinking, and build confidence in learning through purposeful play.

Bright Futures is also providing scholars with virtual one-on-one tutoring for children who are struggling with distance learning or just need support. Anyone interested in these services can enroll online to schedule learning times.

Bright Futures is looking to close gaps of social isolation for scholars that are still learning at home, too, as well as provide opportunities for families to get creative together through Bright Futures on Demand. This innovative online library, created by Bright Futures staff, features fun activities and lessons that can be accessed at any time by all registered families.

Bright Futures would also like to recognize all the hard and important work of staff members as they continue to display courage, resilience and grace in the face of the new challenges COVID-19 has presented.

Enrollment for the Bright Futures program is ongoing: visit pcyc-mpls.org or call 612-643-2096.
