Season 10 of Legends @ the Capri continues with a timely, lovely Valentines show, Taking a Chance on Love: Love Songs from the Great American Songbook featuring Judi Doneghy Vinar with The Wolverines Jazz Trio, at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 10 and 3 p.m. Sunday, February 11 at the Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway.
“This is music that soothes the soul, with lyrics and melodies that make your heart sing,” said Dennis Spears, Artistic Director of Legends @ the Capri, “Perfect for Valentines – and the middle of winter!”
Concert-goers will revel in songs like My Funny Valentine, Embraceable You and Our Love is Here to Stay by composers such as Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Ira Gershwin and other classic love song specialists. Judi Doneghy Vinar brings just the right vocal style to this music that highlights her versatility and inventiveness. And the always-in-the-pocket Wolverines Jazz Trio, featuring Rick Carlson on piano, Steve Pikal on bass and Jendeen Forberg on drums, rounds out this marvelous musical offering.
