Keeping campaigns positive

I read with great interest the letters to the editor that appeared in the last edition (prior to the November 7 election) of the Camden Community News asking for votes of support for various candidates (Phillipe Cunningham, Barb Johnson and Jacob Frey). I love that each letter focused on the positive (and progressive) things the candidates could offer their community — not what their opponents ‘aren’t’ doing.

Bravo to the letter writers and bravo to this publication. This (in my opinion) is the way campaigns should be run. Tell me what you (or your candidates) are going to do without bashing, lying about, or name calling the opponent(s). And bravo to Minneapolis and all Minnesota voters for showing up at the polls!
