Get ready for Snow Emergency Season

Although fall just arrived, winter is around the corner. Stay in touch with the City of Minneapolis during Snow Emergencies. You can sign up to receive email and text message alerts once a Snow Emergency is declared. This makes it possible to learn about Snow Emergencies at the office or when you’re on the road. We recommend you sign up for two or more of the following Snow Emergency alerts: email/text alerts, phone call alerts, or social media alerts. During a snow emergency use the Parking Rules App for Android or iPhones that tells you where you can and can’t park. Knowing when a Snow Emergency is in effect is one of the best ways to avoid a ticket and tow in the winter. For more information please visit minneapolismn.gov/snow. For latest snow emergency news, call: 612-348-SNOW (7669) or TTY: 612-673-2157.
Attend a Minneapolis Homes Information Session Nov. 8

Minneapolis Homes seeks to create healthy, mixed-income housing markets in the city by developing opportunities for homeownership and responsibly managing land.

Yard Waste Collection ends the Week of Nov. 13

Your garbage day in the week of Nov. 13 is the last 2017 collection for leaves, brush and other yard trimmings. Yard waste must be in compostable bags – paper (Kraft) or compostable plastic – or unbagged in a reusable container at least 26 inches high with sturdy handles. Yard waste is not allowed in City-provided containers. Set all yard waste next to your garbage cart by 6 a.m. Leaves must weigh less than 40 pounds, brush must weigh less than 40 pounds, be less than three feet long and bundled with string. Remember, it is against the law and bad for our lakes to rake leaves into the street. For questions about leaf and brush pickup, call 612-673-2917 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m..
