Congratulations to reelected SCNA Board Members: Carol McCrillis, Lori Thayer, Julie Voight, Larry Bontreger, and newly elected Jared Voight and Russell Vanasse. Many thanks to long-time board member Marie Castle for lending her insights and energies to the board. SCNA also appointed a youth ex officio committee: Amina, Aniya, Priya, Chai, Jake, Mumtaz and Cher. They will be joining current board members: Pam Owens, Jeff Strand, Bella Anderson, Fred Statema, Holly Constant, and Nils Badrul for another year of work and fun ahead advocating, promoting, and benefiting the Shingle Creek neighborhood! Congratulations!
SCNA Hosts Third Annual STEAM Expo at Olson Middle School Saturday, May 6
Youth are important to our community and help set the direction of the future! SCNA is proud of our local youth and want to continue to support and showcase their work by hosting the 3rd Annual STEAM EXPO! STEAM (S=Science T=Technology E= Engineering A= Arts M=Math) Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m.-noon. Come and see what positive things our community youth are doing!
Shingle Creek Common Ground Garden seeks gardeners!
Applications are now being taken for gardeners interested in gardening at the Shingle Creek Common Ground Garden at 52nd and Newton Aves N! It is a demonstration raingarden and natural wooded garden with 12 raised bed garden plots for flowers or vegetables! Plots are $15 to help cover the cost of water and supplies.
