Did you know that you can check out a state parks permit from the library? The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has partnered with certain libraries across the state to provide free, seven-day state park passes for those interested in visiting a state park or recreation area. Explore a new state park, learn something new at a naturalist program, or simply enjoy the beauty of winter without worrying about the vehicle permit! Park passes are only valid for the vehicle entrance fee, so if you’d like to camp, you’ll still need to make and pay for camping reservations.
Both North Regional and Webber Park Libraries are part of this program. Each library might check out these passes differently, so contact ahead for more info on your local library’s policies. Once checked out, place the pass on your dashboard so it is visible to park staff. No need to return them—just recycle and let others know about this great program.
This year, they want to expand the library program to even more libraries! Learn more about the library pass program: dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/minnesota-state-parks-library-program.
