Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7! The Story Garden’s Annual Winter Tree event is coming up and we would love to see you there. From 3-5 p.m. on the corner of 35th and Humboldt Ave N neighbors will gather together under the lights of the fruit trees and the rising moon to make and hang edible ornaments for all the critters that call the garden home. We hang strings of popcorn and paint bread cut out in different shapes with peanut butter and dip them in birdseed.
The bonfire provides warmth along with hot cocoa and treats for everyone to enjoy! While the season brings colder temps, this time allows for the community to come together and bring the warmth of connection and peace to one another. December is the beginning of the darkest month and it’s important for us to have lights on in the garden to remind us that hope is never lost.
So many folks walk by the garden coming or going from work or school, and with the shortened days, it’s important to bring a little back on folks’ walk home. We hope you can join us for a little “Light in the Dark” fun and help provide hope for the humans and food for the animals. If you are able, we encourage folks to bring a favorite treat to share.
