MPRB signs contract for construction management on North Commons project

On March 6 the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) approved a contract with RJM Construction to help build the project that will transform North Commons Park, aspiring to directly benefit Northsiders and businesses.

Through its contract, RJM Construction and the team it has assembled will manage the construction process for the $35 million project, MPRB’s largest-ever investment in a neighborhood park.

Tri-Construction, a North Minneapolis firm located a half-mile from North Commons Park, is a key part of the RJM team, representing more than 18 percent of the contract.

In addition to providing traditional construction services such as project management and on-site construction management, Tri-Construction’s role includes expanding MPRB’s contractor and labor outreach in North Minneapolis. That outreach will assist MPRB in maximizing the project dollars circulating among local workers and businesses.
