Park staff have been working to build ice rinks in parks, but unusually warm weather has delayed rink openings into January at Webber, Shingle Creek and Bohanon Parks.
At this point, consistent below freezing temperatures are needed for 7-10 days to create safe skating surfaces, and the current forecast predicts a sustained pattern of above freezing temperatures.
Staff will continue to work to open rinks as soon as possible. Updates will be issued as conditions evolve. Find info on ice rinks locations, warming room hours and the rink building at minneapolisparks.org/rinks.
