Hopewell Music saying goodbye to amazing executive director Andrea Myers

Witten by Tzipporah Johnson

The Board of Directors at Hopewell Music Cooperative North have bittersweet news to share, as well as a new job posting. As of September 1 our amazing Executive Director Andrea Myers will be leaving Hopewell Music to pursue personal interests. While we are sad about this news, we are happy for her future journey, and know she will spread joy and love for music wherever she goes.

For the past 11 years, Andrea has been a strong pillar at Hopewell Music as a dedicated teacher and kind leader. Under her great care, she led us through a COVID pandemic with grace, and increased our staff and budget with thoughtful planning and organization. Andrea’s work has helped support over 100 Northsiders per year to have access to affordable, inclusive and engaging music education in the community.

“Hopewell’s strong mission and vision in creating accessible music education will remain dear to my heart. I feel honored to have been a part of Hopewell’s journey these last 11 years and humbled to have led it as the Executive Director. As Hopewell continues to make great strides in becoming a premiere place for lessons and changing the narrative of music education, the time has come for the next leader to be brought onboard. How powerful it will be to see the leadership of this organization reflect who it serves! I’m so excited to see the future growth of Hopewell and I hope you join me in supporting this incredible organization through sharing of words, time and donations,” said Andrea.

Hopewell’s Board of Directors has begun making plans for a collaborative leadership structure during the interim. This team includes Ellie Fregni, Program Director; Kiana Mayes, Community Engagement Coordinator; and James Haas, Development Officer. Help us spread the news that we are looking for a new leader to carry the torch and breathe fresh energy into this incredible nonprofit with a vision of a thriving Northside music community, where everyone has equal opportunity to nurture and share their talents regardless of race, income, ability or musical background.
