The Capri Glee! Adult Community Choir presents its spring concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7 at the Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway. The concert is free and open to the public.
Directed by J.D. Steele, the choir consists of about 35 singers who’ve gathered this spring to learn a variety of soul-stirring music – a little soul, R&B, some gospel and always some surprises from J.D.’s vast repertoire – that will inspire, uplift and make for a magical evening of music. The band accompanying the choir features Yonathan Bekure on bass, Kenyari Jackson on drums, Spencer Bradley on guitar, Darryl Boudreaux on percussion and Fred Steele (who rehearses with the choir as well) on piano. The concert also features special guests, The Mill City Singers and The MacPhail Community Youth Choir.
The Capri Glee! choir program began in February 2015, and has been going and growing strong since. This is a choir that’s all about singing for joy, learning, laughing, making friends, building community, and, as you’ll see on June 7, raising the roof in song. Join us! You’ll be glad you did.
