Where Shingle Creek residents are meeting, and getting to meet each other, to learn about topics, discuss them, grow and stay connected! We will be planning upcoming community events. The meetings will be held on the third Wednesday in person at Creekview Recreation Center

  • Outdoor Winter Activities in Shingle Creek

Just because it is winter, outdoor activities in Shingle Creek do not stop when it is cold outside. Take advantage of the sledding hill at Logan Ave N and 50th Ave N while it has snow. If you need a sled, Creekview Recreation Center has a few to borrow. If you like to snow shoe, they are also available to borrow. Let’s not forget the ice rink and warming room at Bohanon Park. Warming room is open Monday – Friday 4-7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Lights will be on from 4:30-9 p.m. every day.

  • Creekview Recreation Center

Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is temporarily discontinuing public drop-in hours at recreation centers and returning to buildings open only for pre-registered and ActivePass programs from January 7 until February 14. Existing recreation center room rentals will be honored, but no new rentals will be accepted through February 14.  **They are still looking for some additional staff support for our warming rooms.

In an effort to encourage more neighbor participation, the City of Minneapolis has established new 6-year term limits on all board members. What this means is that most of the current SCNA board will be forced to retire in the next two years. We urge you to consider joining the board to help shape Shingle Creek’s identity by giving neighbors a way to come together to get to know each other, collaborate and propose solution,.

If you have an idea for an event or would like to participate, reach out to us with your ideas.
