Happy New Year! Boys and Girls Club (BGC) – Beacons’ program at Patrick Henry High School – is bringing in the new year with many afterschool programs and field trips.

Beacons provides a safe, positive space for youth during the school day and offers afterschool activities. The mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The BGC goals are to support our youth with their academic careers, mentor on healthy lifestyle choices, and build good character and leadership skills.

Beacons works with Patrick Henry High School staff to provide a multitude of programs along with collaborating with the YWCA, Film North and the Youth Coordinating Board. Some examples of programs that are offered are Girls/Boys Fitness; Beyond the Basics: Relationship Talk; Cooking Class, and Hoops & Homework. Upcoming programs are Drumline, Filmmaking and Career Launch.

All Henry students are encouraged to enroll and participate in our program. Enrollment is free. Healthy snacks are provided afterschool.
