Loring Community School was proud to announce the 2021 Ann Kaari Funds for Education Excellence as part of Give to The Max Day on November 18.

The Kaari family generously established the Ann Kaari Funds for Education Excellence to support Loring student field trips, winter clothing, and special requests from classroom teachers. For the 2021-2022 school year, Ann’s friends and family have agreed to match up to $500 in donations received from the community.

For many years, Ann was a leader on the Loring School PTA, always working to get others involved and making sure the school was working for all children. For years Ann was a volunteer tutor at Loring. Ann helped form the Northside Schools Coalition so parents from all our schools could speak with one voice and the district would have to listen.

In 1988 Ann ran for the Minneapolis Board of Education. She won and went on to be re-elected two more times. She was also an active member of the Patrick Henry Foundation. In 2001, Ann was inducted into the Patrick Henry Hall of Fame.

All donations will go towards supporting student and family needs. Help us support Ann’s legacy by making a financial contribution to the school this giving season. Your gift will have a direct benefit on our community’s students and teachers, and will honor the inspiring servant leadership demonstrated by Ann for so many years.
