Community Engagement Events:
Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization and Victory Neighborhood Association will be co-hosting a 3 on 3 Northside Youth Basketball Tournament at Webber Park on August 18. We are seeking 12 male and 12 female teams to register for the event. Registration is free. We are also seeking community sponsorship to assist in covering the costs association with hosting a community basketball tournament.
Victory, Cleveland, McKinley and Shingle Creek Neighborhood Associations along with Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization will be co-hosting a Ward 4 Candidate Forum along with the League of Woman Voters. Dates and details to come. Please stay tuned.
Volunteer Opportunities:
ViNA’s Community Food Garden is going strong. We are always looking for volunteers to assist in maintaining and growing our garden. Volunteers meet every Thursday at 6 p.m. in the garden located at 4701 Vincent Avenue North.
The Environmental Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with the watering schedule of the planters on 44th and Osseo Road. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on our website under the Activities tab in the drop-down menu under Environment. victoryneighborhood.org
Our Events Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with the upcoming neighborhood events. The events committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Please reach out to the office if you are interested in getting involved.
Livability Committee is also seeking volunteers. This committee meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Livability committee addresses livability issues through policy change and building community by helping neighborhood blocks and residents become more connected.
Programs:
ViNA Youth Corp program is hiring local youth to perform yard tasks to our qualified residents. If you have a youth between the ages of 12-17 looking for employment, please reach out to programs@victoryneighborhood.org for more information.
Down payment assistance. Are you moving to Victory neighborhood and are in-need of down payment assistance? ViNA has funds available utilizing our down payment assistance program. Please reach out to programs@victoryneighborhood.org for more information.
National Night Out:
ViNA will not be hosting a neighborhood national night out (NNO) event. We encourage residents who are interested in participating in National Night Out on August 3rd to reach out to your neighbors to get involved, create a COVID safe plan and register your NNO plan with the city of Minneapolis utilizing the city website at minneapolismn.gov/government/programs-initiatives/nno/registration-details/.
