What’s happening at Webber Park Library? Here’s just a few things!

Saturday, October 5 – Explore Nature! 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Webber Park Library. Enjoy nature-themed activities, meet a live critter, and learn about the Mississippi watershed and our regional ecosystem. Collaborators: North Mississippi River Regional Park, Mississippi Watershed Management Organization. Kids event.

Thursday, October 10 – Percussive Dancing: Unlocking the Human Instrument. 5-6 p.m. Webber Park Library. Percussive dance combines drumming and dance. Explore the blending of cultures, from African and Irish rhythms and movements to the percussive dance through Appalachian hambone, gumboot, Irish step dance, Collegiate step dance, and vocal percussion. Collaborator: The Cowles Center. Funded by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Grades 6-12.

Attorney General Keith Ellison October 16 Violence Prevention Listen Session

The Camden Promise as part of its Violence Prevention grant work with the City of Minneapolis will be hosting Attorney General Keith Ellison on Wednesday, October 16 at 6 p.m. to listen to community members about their concerns about violence in the community and growing need for violence prevention.
