Does your neighborhood park have benches that are in bad repair?

The Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB) will typically start to have staff out in the field to inspect, repair and clean up the parks once all the snow has melted and they can safely get utility vehicles through the parks without causing damage to the soft and wet turf. One of the maintenance crews’ responsibilities is to report benches that are in bad shape.

MPRB carpenters will then be sent out to the park to make repairs, although the carpenter foreman may wait until there are several benches in the area that need fixing before sending out crews to address the problem.

If your local Northside park has benches that continue to remain in bad repair, you can report needed bench maintenance directly to the Park Operations Manager for the North Service Area by emailing Shawn Hockett at shockett@minneapolisparks.org.
