The Capri Glee! Adult Community Choir, under the direction of J.D. Steele, will rehearse Tuesdays at 7-8:30 p.m. from April 10 to May 8 in preparation for a concert performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway. Anyone age 18 or older is welcome to join in the abundant fun of singing in this choir. There is no fee to participate, though contributions to Capri Glee! will be accepted.
Capri Glee! choir members come together from all walks of life and with varying degrees of musical experience (from none to much) to sing great music and make good friends. Singers often gather for fun and good conversation after rehearsals – coordinated by the choir’s enthusiastic Directors of Shenanigans.
Capri Glee! Director J.D. Steele is a masterful teacher who brings out the best in each singer. He helps everyone learn harmonies and to sing with heart and soul. He’s a fun and inspiring storyteller, too, providing context and meaning to each song. And to top it all off, J.D.’s brother, the multi-talented Fred Steele, accompanies the choir on piano. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Capri Glee! singers often comment that no matter how tired they are or how turbulent their day, they are smiling and feeling better by the end of each rehearsal. That’s the power of music. Come experience it. Info and register at thecapritheater.org or 612-643-2058.
