The 10th season of Legends @ the Capri opens with Bacharach…All Saxed Up, a monumental tribute to legendary songwriter and producer, Burt Bacharach, at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 30 and 3 p.m. Sunday, October 1 at the Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway.
Burt Bacharach’s catalogue includes hundreds of popular chartbusters that have been performed by well-known artists from many genres. The Capri’s treatment will feature an ensemble of some of Minnesota’s finest playing a smoky and sexy mixture of saxophone (Kathy Jensen), tantalizing keys (Mary Louise Knutson), soulful bass licks (Tony Axtell) and two world class vocalists, Patty Peterson and Cookie Coleman.
Offerings such as The Look of Love, What’s New Pussycat, I say a Little Prayer and What the World Needs Now is Love are just few of the songs that will leave you smoldering and hungering for more!
Tickets are $25 or $20 each for groups of 10 or more; available at thecapritheater.org or Capri TicketWorks at 612-343-3390. Season tickets for all four Legends shows are available for $80 (a $20 savings over single ticket prices). Capri Star season tickets may also be purchased for $125, including a $45 tax-deductible contribution to Capri Theater arts programs.
This is the last Legends season in the Capri “as is.” At the conclusion of Season 10, ground will be broken for the Capri expansion and Legends Season 11 will be on the road at various metro venues while the theater is closed for construction.
