Summer Activities
Live on the Drive has posted their summer concert series lineup. This year’s kick-off concert is Thursday, June 8, 6-8 p.m. featuring Davina and the Vagabonds. Concerts will also be held on July 13 featuring Jayanthi Kyle and August 10 featuring Lush Country.
Live on the Drive is a free concert series with a variety of music for all ages and musical tastes hosted by the Cleveland Neighborhood Association with support from the Victory Neighborhood Association that happens once per month throughout the summer on the beautiful Victory Memorial Drive and 34th Ave. in North Minneapolis. Minneapolis Police Activities League (PAL)
Minneapolis Police Activities League (PAL) is a non-profit organization, located in Webber-Camden neighborhood, that is dedicated to reducing juvenile crime and violence by giving kids a safe place to play, positive role models and creative activities to engage in—all for free. Minneapolis Music and Movies in the Parks
Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board brings you Music and Movies in the Parks. They provide free, family-friendly entertainment throughout the summer to music and movie lovers! On June 8, July 13 and August 10, there will be movies showing at Victory Memorial Drive following the Live on the Drive concerts. The summer kicks off with a viewing of Gravity on June 8 after Live on the Drive. Visit minneapolisparks.org for more information and a full schedule.
Open Streets
The streets of Minneapolis will be active again this summer as the city plays host to Open Streets events starting in June. Open Streets is designed to help promote walking, bicycling and mass transit for the well-being of people and our environment. North Minneapolis will host Open Streets on Saturday, Sept. 9 on West Broadway from Lyndale to Penn Ave. For more information and a full schedule of this year’s events, visit openstreetsmpls.com.
Folwell Neighborhood Resource Fair and Ice Cream
Folwell neighborhood is hosting their annual ice cream social on Thursday, June 15, 5-8 p.m. at Folwell Park (1615 Dowling Ave. N). Join friends and neighbors for an evening of community with ice cream, games, music and more! Thirty community resource tables will be on hand with activities, information and giveaways. Neighborhood Hub Healthy Homes Resource Fair
The Neighborhood Hub is hosting their 5th Annual Healthy Homes Resource Fair on Thursday, June 22, 5-8 p.m. at 3120 Washburn Ave. N. Residents are invited to come out and enjoy a community fair focused on creating a holistic and healthy lifestyle and community. Many resources and partners will be on hand to provide information, resources and fun for the community.
