Cleveland

The Cleveland Neighborhood had a busy December! Through our relationship with Free Bike for Kids and one awesome Board Member, Robert Colbert, we were able to donate 63 bikes to Cleveland Neighborhood children! Through Toys for Tots and Walker Works, over 45 families were able to receive holiday gifts!

The Crime and Safety Committee was able to have a Personal Safety Workshop in December, so that residents could feel better about asserting themselves and staying safe in the event of an altercation.

Our Events Committee is working diligently with vendors and MPS Community Education to plan for a successful Northside Housing Fair on March 18.

Discussions that are coming up with our Community Development Committee:

  • MPRB’s master plan for North Minneapolis parks and triangles – the MPRB will start engaging the community during the beginning of 2017. They are looking for individuals to sit on the CAC Committee to develop a plan on how to fund North Minneapolis parks.
  • Also, there will be major resurfacing construction taking place along I94 west all throughout 2017. This will affect traffic flow in North Minneapolis. Please visit MNDot’s website for more information.
  • The RFP released from Hennepin County for the future development of the northwest corner of Lowry and Dowling.
  • Metro Transit’s C-Line and Better Bus Stops throughout North Minneapolis.
