Hmong American Mutual Assistance Association finds new home in Shingle Creek
The Shingle Creek Neighborhood Association is excited to have the long established Hmong American Mutual Assistance Association (HAMMA) just two doors down at the Roreum Office Complex on 49th Ave. N. We recently heard about HAMMA’s interest in finding an office space in the Minneapolis area at one of our recent board meetings. SCNA made some inquiries regarding potential office rental space and made some connections to help HAMMA find a new home back in Minneapolis.
HAMMA is a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to serve the Hmong American community in the City of Minneapolis and the greater Twin Cities to: Promote leadership in the Hmong community; promote educational advancement for Hmong young professionals and teens; encourage Hmong refugees to be self-efficient and contributing members of their community; and promote and maintain Hmong cultural heritage.
We welcome them to the neighborhood and wish them all the best in achieving their mission and partnering with them in the near future!
SCNA seeking two Board Members
The Shingle Creek Neighborhood Association realizes life is busy for everyone. Do you have a passion for improving this community? The Shingle Creek Neighborhood Association, a 501c3 nonprofit is currently seeking two volunteer board members! You would be responsible to attend monthly board meetings, occasional committee meetings, help at SCNA hosted events, and help use your talent and skills to help grow the organization!
