Cookie Cart offering discount on holiday cookies

Cookie Cart, the award-winning Northside nonprofit bakery, is offering a limited-time discount on its decorated seasonal holiday and traditional cookies. From now through December 1, customers will receive a 10 percent discount off orders placed online, by phone or in the bakery, when using the code EarlyBird2016. Cookie Cart cookies make a great gift for clients, family and friends, and the bakery delivers its cookies throughout the Twin Cities Metro and ships anywhere in the world. The decorated holiday options include Christmas, Hanukkah and seasonal winter-motif choices; the bakery also offers custom-decorated cookies by request.

Orders may be placed several ways: call the bakery at 612-521-0855 and ask for Alex Kotlarek; email orders@cookiecart.org; or online at cookiecart.org. When placing an order by December 1, be sure to mention or enter code EarlyBird2016 to receive a 10 percent discount. Traditional flavor cookies are $1 each or $10 per dozen; seasonal decorated cookies are $2 each or $16 per dozen; custom-decorated cookies are available only by the dozen and are $20 per dozen.

Cookie Cart welcomes individuals and groups of up to 25 to volunteer in the bakery at any time of the year and especially during the busy holiday season – this year the bakery expects to bake approximately 25,000 dozens of cookies between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Volunteer shifts are available weekdays, weekday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday. It’s a fun way for family, friends and colleagues to give back to the community while working alongside the talented and dedicated Cookie Cart teens. For information about volunteer opportunities, contact Sara Ernst at 612-843-1942 or sernst@cookiecart.org.

Cookie Cart employs and empowers urban teens by providing them with lasting and meaningful work, and life and leadership skills through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery. The bakery was founded in 1988 by the late Sister Jean Thuerauf who years earlier had begun baking cookies with the neighborhood teens and helping them with their homework in her Northside kitchen. The bakery opening was the realization of her dream to provide a safe, secure, creative and engaging space for area teens. In 2010 the organization served 100 teens and now Cookie Cart’s Minneapolis location serves approximately 200 teens each year. For info visit cookiecart.org.
