The Fourth Annual Battle of the Badges and Peoples’ Barbeque was held on September 10 at North Commons Park. Folks enjoyed free food, live music and activities, presented by the Minneapolis Police Activities League (PAL). Minneapolis Police, Minneapolis Fire and Minneapolis Park Police had a BBQ cook off. After a number of years of the MPD winning, the MFD finally won this year. There were also youth football games happening, two different bouncy structures, music and community tables.
PAL is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to reducing juvenile crime and violence by giving kids a safe place to play, positive role models, and creative activities to engage in—all for free. For info check out minneapolispal.org. Photo by Buzzy Bohn.
