For the first time on West Broadway Avenue, residents will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy their neighborhood streets, without the presence of motorized traffic at Open Streets Broadway. West Broadway between Lyndale and Penn will be open to all on Saturday, September 10, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Open Streets brings together community groups and local businesses to temporarily close major thoroughfares to car traffic, and open them up for people walking, biking, skating and playing.
More than a street festival, Open Streets gives residents an opportunity to explore their neighborhood and local businesses in a safe, fun and family-friendly way. It encourages the use of active transportation and healthy living, and has a goal of giving residents an opportunity to rethink our streets as public space.
