If you haven’t planned for your National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 2, there’s still time. You don’t need to do anything fancy at this time – just get together with your neighbors to meet, socialize, share some food and have some games for the kids.
It is free to participate, and when you register your event you will get free Mystery Point Passes for Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America. Register at minneapolismn.gov/nno/nno_register or call 311.
National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, holding block parties and getting to know their neighbors as a way to encourage crime prevention. It’s a great way to promote community-police partnerships and enjoy a Minnesota summer evening surrounded by friends and family.
Last year Minneapolis ranked number one for registered NNO block events. Help make Minneapolis number one again! For info, planning ideas and tools visit minneapolismn.gov/nno.
