Upper Harbor Terminal Project gets underway
The Upper Harbor Terminal project is getting underway. It’s a project being worked on jointly by the City of Minneapolis and the Park Board. The Upper Harbor Terminal (UHT) is an (almost) 50 acre site on the west bank of the Mississippi River, north of the Lowry Bridge and south of the Camden Bridge. It is city owned land and until 2015 was used as a barging terminal, but with the end of barging to this area, it is open for redevelopment. Some planning around this site was done with recent City and Park Board projects but some remains. A portion of the land will be development, and a portion along the river will be park. The planning portion of this project is getting underway. Residents can sign up for updates on the Minneapolis Park Board website.
