It may not be summer, but it’s definitely time for a Fair

Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) is partnering with schools throughout the city to host the upcoming School Fair Showcase, an annual event where more than 70 public and charter schools gather to share the programs, activities and educational opportunities they can offer to students.

The free event gives families the chance to explore the Pre-K–12 options available across Minneapolis so they can make an informed decision about which school will best meet their childrens’ needs. The School Fair Showcase will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday, February 6. Families are invited to drop by anytime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

At the event, families will be able to submit their school request forms for the 2016-17 school year. Request forms may also be submitted online at studentplacement.mpls.k12.mn.us until March 5. School request forms are necessary for incoming kindergartners and 9th graders. They can also be submitted by students in any grade looking to switch to a new school next year or incoming middle school students who do not wish to attend their pathway middle school.
