The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board thanks everyone who attended the new Webber Park Natural Swimming Pool this past summer.
Pool hours are expected to expand next summer. Hours were limited this summer because of malfunctioning robotic vacuums, but the new vacuums work great.
The pool’s delicate ecosystem needs time to establish itself, so no ice skating will be hosted this winter. Next winter (2016-17) ice skating on the frozen pool begins. When that happens the pool house will be converted into a warming house complete with a gas fireplace.
Construction on a small maintenance shed began after the pool closed September 7 and should be finished up soon.
