Join your neighbors for the 2015 NorthFirst: River Connect social event on September 29, 6-8:30 p.m. at the Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway. This is a great opportunity to get to know other Northside residents and neighborhood organizations, enjoy happy hour, and hear some brief presentations about a topics of interest to neighborhoods and residents.
With the closure of the Upper Harbor (at Dowling and Washington) the City has an opportunity for redevelopment that may give Northside residents the same access to the river that is enjoyed by the residents of other parts of the City.
The evening includes: Social hour, including the Water Bar runs 6-7 p.m. From 7-8 p.m. are 3 min. presentations in the theater including Is Your River Story part of the River of Stories?; The Mississippi Within You; What Would Bring You to the Riverfront?; The Hidden Mississippi; Northsiders know Rivers: Reimagining Langston Hughes; Dear River and Water Bar; and We’re All in This Boat Together. From 8-8:30 p.m. is networking and information sharing.
