Find, and comment on, historic images, archives

Historic images and archives from the City of Minneapolis – some dating back to the 1800s – are now available for online viewing. Check out the Minneapolis Archives Flickr page.

The Minneapolis City Clerk’s Office, with the assistance of the Urban Scholars summer internship program, has digitized many historic images and materials from the Minneapolis Archives collections and posted them for public viewing on a new Minneapolis Archives Flickr page available at flickr.com/mplsarchives. The page will contain a variety of images, video, documents and reports, some going back centuries, which highlight the history of Minneapolis and city government. The page will be updated regularly with new images and archives as the Clerk’s Office continues to assess and digitize its archival holdings.

Visitors to the page are encouraged to comment and add any historical knowledge they may have related to the images to better identify the materials posted and provide any historical context.
