For the sixth year, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra (SPCO) is partnering with the Capri Theater to bring classical music to North Minneapolis. The 2015-16 season features three Thursday evening concerts on October 29, December 10 and April 7. All programs begin at 7 p.m. at the Capri, 2027 West Broadway.
Season tickets for all three concerts (general admission seating) are $33 and are on sale at thespco.org or SPCO box office at 651-291-1144. In addition, as a part of SPCO’s mission to make classical music more accessible, a third of the 250 seats in the Capri Theater will continue to be offered free on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations for free tickets will be offered a month prior to each concert date.
The programs for the October 29 and April 7 concerts are to be announced. The December 10 concert features Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, No. 5 and No.6 – perfect music for the holiday season.
“We look forward to SPCO’s 6th season of classical chamber music at the Capri,” said Capri Director James Scott. “Their music and musicians are so inspiring, and their generous offer of free tickets makes that inspiration available to all.”
The SPCO/Capri partnership has attracted new audiences for both organizations and the series is now an established and treasured asset of the Northside community. Info thecapritheater.org. More about SPCO at thespco.org.
