National Night Out, August 4. NNO is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, holding block parties and getting to know their neighbors as a way to encourage crime prevention. It’s a great way to promote community-police partnerships and enjoy a Minnesota summer evening surrounded by friends and family.

WCNO’s Truck Extravaganza: Saturday, August 8, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Webber Park (4400 Dupont Avenue North). Free food and fun with hourly “honk offs” (trucks sound their horns at the same time) and kids’ raffles are held. There’s the “truck dig”; kids keep whatever trucks they find.
